The goal of this deck is to buff and , while having reactive ways to deal with bad pulls. This way we can make two reliable investigations with Duke and potentially test for a trechery as well, without committing any cards! Cards are precious, because cards can fuel Duke.

The core of our deck is Pocket Multi Tool, Granny Orne, Lucky!, and Live and Learn. The idea is to laugh in the face of the chaos bag. Multi Tool and Orne even let your party get a taste of this as they can use them as well, and you can extend this further by upgrading to Lucky!. You can get even more protection from the instant fail token by getting Eucatastrophe.

Because we have so much sanity soak we take In the Thick of It and take two mental trauma. Our plan is to not take sanity damage ourselves, as that would mean we've lost Plucky, Guiding Spirit, and Cherished Keepsake. In campaign mode, the implication of this is that we can start with any of the desperate cards such as Desperate Search and Say Your Prayers, you could even make a version of this deck with Yaotl and keep those cards around, or keep them instead of the cantrips.

We spend our off color slots on Magnifying Glass as another bonus to our investigations, Deduction to make our Duke actions more efficient, and Deep Knowledge to add more consistency and fuel to the deck. There are other strong cards to consider, but if you are the main cluever I would always keep Magnifying Glass unless you are specifically replacing it with Ice Pick or Ritual Candles.

We don't run any resource generators. I do not think this is an issue as the deck is light on costs, and ideally you should only be playing one card a turn and taking two Duke actions, this deck wants to hit the ground running. If you wanted to play an even further support role for your team though and provide some bank you could run Schoffner's Catalogue, Take Heart, and Faustian Bargain.

You could run Déjà Vu as this deck plays a lot of cards that say exile, though the upfront cost is expensive and we don't plan to let our assets die. If you go this route you should definitely be running Burn After Reading, A Test of Will, and possibly more.

We run the neutral commits like Guts, Overpower, and Perception as these are cantrips getting us either our valuable assets or food for Duke.

The first upgrades should be getting Pry Bar and Magnifying Lens for Multi Tool unless you aren't planning to start with it in the deck. Granny Orne is the next most important upgrade after that. Spring Loaded is also important. It isn't recommended to get Plucky before upgrading Leather Coat as Duke can only soak one damage. Other upgrades on Multi Tool if you make them are up to you, as the 7xp version performs its roll in the deck. I went with Detachable as a cheap support upgrade and Sharpened Knife to flex stronger with Duke, this also makes it a bona fide level 5 asset!
