So, say you are playing on expert:
- Hand: The Chthonian Stone (seal ) and Sign Magick (Additional arcane slot for rituals)
- Arcane slots: Protective Incantation (seal -8) Protective Incantation (seal -6), Seal of the Seventh Sign (seal )
That way you can almost always succeed if you are 4+ on a test, letting you overcommit with confidence, scaping those treacheries or retaliates.
Unfortunately, you spend 2 resources every round to pay for your mandingas. But you have a wealthy friend to give you resources every successful investigation, plus you make a buck cracking cases, and working overtime to make sure you don't run dry.
With Dr. Milan Christopher you investigate at a nice 6, with the Practice Makes Perfect combo for a Deduction, Perception and Enraptured you can reach those high shroud locations with relative easy.
Outside of that, Stargazing, Ward of Protection, Deny Existence are here to protect you.
