This is the Minh solo deck I’ve been using, this particular version being specialised for Dunwich (hence the 2 different allies, for HAW). I played a slightly different version of this through the core campaign and won. I only found 2 unique cultists but beat Ummy without feeding Lita Chantler to him.

Speaking of Lita, she was actually the inspiration for a combat-heavy Minh deck, and that version used Calling in Favors and No Stone Unturned to find her. Moving into Dunwich, I figured Dr. Francis Morgan could fill a similar role, (though he is expensive, compared to her), but I’ve actually decided he’s not really needed, and have removed the searching cards.

Basically you just want to get the holy trinity of Fire Axe, Dark Horse and Madame Labranche onto the table, then keep your hand full of cards for committing. I’ve found her highly capable of dealing with enemies.

The other significant change is Strange Solution (there wasn’t enough xp in core campaign to warrant including them) which, upgraded, has taken over as my other weapon. Knife will be replaced, I’m thinking, with Cryptic Research. I’m not sure yet whether I’ll keep Dr. William T. Maleson around with Charisma or replace him with Forewarned.

All of that, along with the obligatory Higher Education, makes about 24 xp. After that, who knows? There’s a few ideas I’m throwing around, will have to see.

What's your experience with Rise to the Occasion? I've included it in my survivor decks a few times, but it was a dead card most of the time (either my base stat was too high or even with rise, the chance for success too low). What about Inquiring Mind instead?

I don't have any experience in solo, but in 2-4 player i always add any mythos counter and never regretted it. Minhs advantage is, she can include 6 cards for this: Dr. William T. Maleson, Forewarned and A Test of Will.

Also i'd replace Knife with either Preposterous Sketches or No Stone Unturned, as the knife is a bad replacement. And if you already have the axe in play, knife is a dead card while Preposterous Sketches refills your hand and No Stone Unturned can search for a good skill card.

I like Inquiring Mind, but it too has its downsides. I need the boost mainly for combat, and since there are fewer clues generally in solo and Minh is pretty good at investigating, it’s easy to wind up fighting at a location with no clues. Rise to the Occasion can be awkward sometimes, but there is no shortage of 4 enemies in Dunwich. Minh’s Ability can add an extra icon to it. Add the effect of Dark Horse and you’re going into that test at +3.

You’re right about the mythos counters, but it’s just a question of deck space. All 6 seems like a lot.

I dunno man, I stand by Knife, at least in the early campaign. Getting stuck with an enemy and no weapon is pretty rough, and with some skill cards in hand Minh can do some damage with this. It’s not exactly a dead card either, since it can be committed.
