In preparation for Arkham Con 2025 I have taken it upon myself to make a series of pre-made Standalone decks all with different alt-art treatments. What started with a goal of 3 decks, a flex, cluever, and goon, blossomed into 7 with a range of wild designs. Here is a link to some low res files so you can see what they look like: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1J-EYuY12iov-oja2xg88ubVSyOuZRmfr?usp=sharing

Don't forget to check out the other decks, and say hey at Arkham Con if you see me! I might even have a an alt-art surprise for you. ;)

This flex deck is inspired by a member of the Mythos Busters who brought something similar to a Buster Con several years ago. Take 2 mental trauma from In the Thick of It to start the game with all the Desperate skills online. Stack those on the top of your discard pile with Pete's natural ability and Forced Learning to be used on loop by Yaotl. Oftentimes you will use Pete's ability to just keep using Yaotl and getting huge buffs to your tests. Impromptu Barrier, Improvised Weapon, and Winging It are all more than happy to be pitched to ready assets and still see use from the discard pile. With the vast majority of the deck being skills Dark Horse seems a natural choice. Pete Sylvester and Meat Cleaver give some breathing room since we will start at only 3 remaining sanity. While no means a top tier deck, it is deceptively scrappy. Initially I thought this was going to be pure jank, but after playing several game have found that it fills the gaps in a team nicely. Succeeding at some test thresholds that honestly have no reasonable business being passed (Looking at you Black Core with full Depth tokens).

The art theme is Play-Doh. Craft clay works wonders for the visuals and honestly makes me want to see this done for a whole scenario. This deck was undoubtedly the most time intensive of all 7 I finished for this con though. Not only did it require the most pieces of alternative art at a 51 card deck, but I had to go deep into the rabbit hole of photo shop to achieve many of the cards you see in the folder. Despite learning many of the finer points of Photo-Shop I still found myself pulling out my daughter's Play-Doh and my phone camera at several points to fill gaps. Many of the finished art seen in the deck are actually several layers of unrelated pieces put together collage style digitally, such as that seen in Reckless Assault. My all time favorite through this is Calling in Favors though. I had put the person in the phone booth layered over the city when my daughter(8) asked, "Why do they look so worried Daddy?" I asked her what could be happening in the city to make them so worried and she suggested that the city should be on fire. So an hour later with the Play-Doh and we have some job security for the Fire Department. Learned a lot along the way, and I am already scheming on new ideas for next year!
