This deck is inspired by another build deck called Fast and Curious. Am playing this with my version of Leo Anderson.
After playing with Ursula for a few times, I realised that she needs greater mobility in order to deal with her signature weakness, hence if when possible upgrade Shortcut to Pathfinder.
I read some players complained that Higher Education is "broken" but as it is, you still need to have 5 cards or more in hand in order to use its ability. It doesn't help when Ursula has Amnesia as her weakness so there will always be a risk for her to have too many cards in her hand.
However, once you get Dr. Milan and a Magnifying Glass down which will up Ursula's Intellect to 6, investigation is often a relative breeze when you pay 2 resource to boost the Intellect up to 8 (I am playing on Hard Mode) and gain success on your Investigation. When that happens, you get back the 1 resource you pay from Dr. Milan. Furthermore, with Fieldwork it makes the task of investigating easier (and can be an alternative if you don't have 5 cards in hand).
Earlier on, before Strange Solution is upgraded, it can help to draw 2 cards which can set up your hand to meet the prerequisite of Higher Education. But once have enough XP to upgrade this. I am not sure whether to go for Freezing Variant or Acidic Ichor. Freezing Variant will suit Ursula theme of moving fast and collect clues but Acidic Ichor can help her to combat if she does not draw "I've Got a Plan". At the moment, I am sticking to Freezing Variant and let Leo handle the enemies.
Unearth the Ancient is useful to pay for some costly assets like Cthonian Stone, Tooth of Eztli, and Pathfinder when you are tight on your resources.
I have 1 copy of Hyperawareness just in case I have 4 cards or less and it can also help me to Evade if needed.

Aug 23, 2018Can’t use unearth the ancients for the chthonian stone unfortunately... |

I realise that Unearth the Ancient can be used on Dr. Milan Christopher which cost 4. Thematically, I do not know how UtA and Dr. Milan can interact. Perhaps, story wise, it can be that Dr. Milan is trapped and Ursula through her expedition has manage to discover him. :P |

Aug 24, 2018Cheers for the shoutout to fast and curious. love the deck (and the name!). Django is right. Unearth the Ancients is a great card in Ursula even if its not being used on a relic. She has plenty of 3+ cost seeker assets (relic or not) it can be used on, and its real beauty is that it can be used via her ability since it counts as an investigate. action. This means it can effectively be used as a free install action on those turns that you move to a location without a clue (or with one if you want, Fieldwork is a nice combo to get those big ticket items out). This option even makes it worthwhile even on a 1 or 2 cost asset. Another top tip for TFA if you want it. Ive stopped using Logical Reasoning in place of Trench Coat as of last pack. HP is a bit more pressured in TFA and the +1 lets her evade smaller things. |
<3 for the deck name!
