Question 1: How many times are you drawing through your entire deck, on average?

Question 2: What is the maximum number of cards to keep in hand?

Question 3: How do you mitigate Thrice-Damned Curiosity? If you keep 12 cards, that's 4 damage; more than half of your health pool. If you draw that weakness again, or get hit once or twice by an enemy or encounter card, you're dead.

@VanyelAshke For Question 1: Deck cycles around once or twice un-upgraded but starts getting into the 3-5 range when you start adding cards such as Cryptic Research and Mind over Matter (II). The amount of times you cycle slightly depends if you are using draw cards on teammates but average would be around 3 as deep knowledge tends to be an amazing card to fill your fellow investigators hands while Cryptic Research helps you with yours.

For Question 2: The maximum amount of cards I usually keep depends on 3 things: (1) The normal max I keep is usually 5 since drawing Thrice-Damned Curiosity wont count as the sixth card in its trigger making it only deal 1 damage. (2) If you have Rook or Lab assistant, 8 would be fine assuming you are in a position to place the damage on your allies (3) If thrice is not in your deck, then as big as you desire also assuming you arent about to reshuffle the deck and draw from it.

For Question 3: The main ways the deck controls Thrice is mainly by Rook and Eureka since both can allow the weakness to be drawn at a more manageable position rather than later. Although Mr. Rook and eureka are there to help mitigate the weakness by both drawing it when you have a small hand and to soak the damage, having fast events also helps by allowing more cards to get out of your hand during a turn by either optimizing actions such as shortcut or working a hunch, drawing to control your weakness such as tempt fate, or simply being commits since 1 more icon can help with making autofail the only token that needs to be worried about. For drawing the weakness again, Lab assistant and Rook will be in the deck for soak if not your hand again to soak the damage as well as the amount of assets that would clutter your hand would be in the field the second time you go through the deck making it easier to commit your draw cards into investigates.

For Mythos and Enemy Concerns: Harvey tends to do okay in mythos given his high will which a late serum can help in through a commit. For ones that deal damage, his allies tend to do most of the soaking (for sanity hits always place at least one on the ally) given the deck will churn them out again. Occult lexicon, mind over matter (this slot can also be used for anatomical diagram to make evades easier) and, if upgraded into, pendant of the queen can help in mitigating enemies that Harvey would prefer not to interact with. Just keep in mind fast actions do not provoke attacks of opportunity so in dire situations a tempt fate or cryptic research can draw into the perfect card.

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed response! It's appreciated and helps understand clearly.

So the general strategy is to play with a hand of 5-8 cards to only get 1-2 damage when Thrice-Damned Curiosity shows up. Then, you can ignore your hand size and go as high as you want. Once you reshuffle the discard into your deck, then get back down to a smaller hand by playing/committing cards, and use your allies for soak. Gotcha!

You said that your Harvey deck is able to cycle through his deck 3-5 times. WOW! I didn't expect that just by looking at the list. Since that's the case, are there specific cards that you think Harvey is able to profit (and maybe "abuse) compared to other Seekers/investigators?
For example, The Necronomicon maybe since he'll be cycling through his deck so frequently? Or maybe Pendant of the Queen?

Do you have any insight from your experience?

Do you have a link to your upgrade path?

@VanyelAshke From my experience, the most abusable cards are Cryptic Writings, Cryptic Research, and Segment of Onyx since Writings helps ensure you have enough resources to keep playing your cards (such as stacking Working a Hunch with Crack the Case and Connect the Dots), Research draws 3 cards fast (4 with your ability) for no cost to fuel the deck and segment (other than being both fast and adding a theoretical extra action) can be reshuffled meaning as long as you have 1 card in your deck, Harvey can redraw into it pretty consistently especially once Thrice-Damned Curiosity has been triggered.

As for upgrade path, the deck can either leans toward being more support or into a more self reliant build depending on what cards are taken out. For a support build where you help your allies the following path should work. 1xConnect the Dots+2xOccult Invocation 3xSegment of Onyx (1xp)

2xMagnifying Glass Magnifying Glass (2xp)

2xMind over Matter/ 2xAnatomical Diagrams 2xCryptic Research (8xp)

2xCryptic Writings 2xCryptic Writings (4xp)

For a more self reliant build :

1xConnect the Dots+(2x Mind over Matter/ 2xAnatomical Diagrams) 3xSegment of Onyx (1xp)

2xMagnifying Glass Magnifying Glass (2xp)

2x Deep Knowledge 2xCryptic Research (8xp)

2xCryptic Writings 2xCryptic Writings (4xp)

The Priorities I tend to go with are Segment of Onyx then 1x Cryptic Research then Magnifying Glass depending on how much xp is earned. The rest of the upgrades ignoring the ones stated above are less of priority but Mind Over Matter can replace Perception and Studious is a great card if you want to ensure an optimal hand.

As for experience, I have ran versions of this deck in 1 player Dunwich, 2 pLayer Carcosa, and am currently going in 4 player Innsmouth finding out certain cards such as Connect the Dots being preferred in 2 player over others, Forewarned having to be slotted in to avoid the nasty mythos deck as well as action draws being less useful in solo runs. As for The Necronomicon, it did had good uses in the solo run but in order to cycle it would have to get discarded meaning either a magnifying glass had to be in hand or an action had to be used to get occult lexicon on the field.
