This is a fast, momentum based deck built around fighting, high card draw, and the efficient use of actions. Once setup with the proper assets, the player should focus on defeating enemies.

Hard mulligan to draw assets, prioritized in this order:

Boxing Gloves, Empty Vessel, Physical Training and Well Prepared.

Randall Cho and Tetsuo Mori provide additional redundancy to guarantee that the Boxing Gloves and Empty Vessel can be played early.

Notable cards:

  • Tetsuo Mori, "I've had worse…": Both these cards help shore up Cho's defensively through providing soak and damage cancellation as well as reward aggressive play through their secondary effects. Notably, Mori can help setup Cho with either Boxing Gloves or Empty Vessel if a bad opening hand is drawn.

  • Daring: This card is chosen over Overpower because it guarantees card draw, has one additional skill test icon and provides the flexibility of being used for evasion skill tests. Enemy retaliation on a failed skill test is a downside, but Tetsuo Mori, "I've had worse…" and Glory help mitigate the downsides of this through building momentum from the enemy attack.

  • Galvanize: Galvanize allows an additional fight action to be taken and can ready Boxing Gloves or Well Prepared to be reused immediately. Since this build is based around fight actions, Galvanize synergies well here.

  • "Get over here!", Stand Together: These cards provide team support without sacrificing offensive pressure. While Taunt provides additional card draw over "Get over here!", other cards provide similar utility and the ability to pull enemies from 2 locations away is too good to give up. The leveled version of Stand Together allows all investigators at Cho's location to draw 2 cards and gain 2 resources at the cost of 1 action.

  • Well Prepared: Once setup, Well Prepared can be used both offensively and defensively on skill checks. It is particularly helpful with skill checks during the Mythos phase, where it can bolster Cho's Willpower by 2 if the Empty Vessel, Randall Cho or Physical Training are played.

Weaknesses:

  • Cho is unable to discover Clues. This role will need to be covered by another investigator in the party.

  • Cho is weak in the early game and is dependent on good draws from the encounter deck if his assets are not in play. Cho has relatively low horror and may have problems passing Willpower skill tests during the Mythos phase without Physical Training and/or Well Prepared. This can be bad as he has no way to heal damage or horror until the Empty Vessel is charged. Until fully setup, event cards with Willpower test icons should be saved so that they can be committed during skill tests. Friendly investigators can also help shore up Cho's weakness through encounter deck manipulation.
