Welcome to Darrell Simmons Ted talk about getting clues by posting semi-nude pictures of Hastur on Snapchat to become famous. Obviously inspired by the great Rex Murphy.

If you are anything like me you actually are really bad at keeping up to social media's... So what do we do to get internet famous and win against the greater god's of Arkham?

Step 1: Get a camera.

Step 2: Profit.

ANYWAY, Apparently (seeing as my only other two guides are cluever Stella and cluever Duke decks) I love survivors, but what I love more is survivors who get clues. So let me show you the most survivor-y way to get clues with our next best buddy, Darrell. AND OH MY GOD IS HE A POWERHOUSE OR WHAT.

Let me explain: instead of upping your own intellect we are going to obliterate the shroud of our locations. We can reduce the difficulty of tests by spending evidence on the cards that Darrell has in play. His Kodak starts in play which is great and is already a good way of getting evidence to spend, but our lvl 0-2 access allows us to do so much more than that:

  • Hawk-Eye Folding Camera gets an evidence everytime a location is emptied of clues. This effect stacks, ok? It keeps stacking. It will stack forever. It's not gonna stop stacking after the third effect is applied. I can not make any clearer how good this item is for our dear Darrell. (Keep in mind this item takes up a hand slot which is fine. The other hand slot will be permanently filled with another item we will get to later.)

  • Empirical Hypothesis will get you an evidence everytime you either fail at a test by 2 or more or you succeed at a test by 3 or more. You can this evidence to get cards but we don't.. talk about that. With locations being shroud 0 and your intellect being 5 it is extremely easy to collect evidence this way. The annoying thing about this card is that you gotta choose either failing or succeeding at the start of the round and well.. I forget. So usually before we begin a scenario I say "My choice will always be to succeed by 3 or more unless specified otherwise.".

This is how we get evidence. But now how do we spend it? Simple. We get an Old Keyring (3). I swear this game has me looking for in game keys harder than when I lost them in real life and I'm late for work.

Old Keyring (3) doesn't only lower your shroud location by 2, but it also allows you to get an additional clue when your shroud is 0. Is your location a shroud higher than 2? Just combo it with Darrell's ability: spend an evidence to reduce the difficulty of your test, lowering the shroud.

Sadly the keyring only has 3 stacks.. that's why we have Scavenging. Ideally, Scavenging (2). If you already have an old keyring in your discard pile (for example thanks to Short Supply), you can already play it when discarding the one you just emptied! If not.. remember that your intellect is already 5 by default. It shouldn't (emphasis on SHOULDN'T) be too hard to succeed an investigation by 2 once to get the keys back anyway. This is pretty much the basics of this deck.

Bring the location down to shroud 0 with your evidence and keyring, then get 2 clues because of your keyring and when it runs out just scavenge it and repeat . Though, we live in a world where we want to impress and 2 clues x action is just not enough anymore. How about 6 clues in 1 action?

You heard me.

We have this beautiful card named Shed a Light in the game now. This card allows you to automatically succeed at a test if the difficulty is 0 and then discover one additional clue on your location and an additional clue on any other location. That's 4 clues.

Now commit a Deduction (2) to it.

I think I've said enough - Mic drop.

The rest of the deck is simply filled with Resourceful to match the Short Supply and get Shed a Light back after using it and some combat options with Stray Cat and Mind over Matter. Shortcut cause why not and some more cluegathering options/carddraw but you can fill the deck how you like. For example with more items to scavenge?

Noteworthy is Eon Chart (1) to also scavenge back and cycle for the free moves, but your first upgrade should definitely be the old keyring (I used In the Thick of It to put it in scenario 1) and then deduction followed by scavenging.

I hope you love this deck as much as I do, let me know what you think in the comments!

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk .
