  • It's the Aztec Mafia! I'm afraid these guys won't accept payment in 1920s dollars.

  • This test had the potential to influence the entire campaign so I had no choice but to commit the relic. I hope it won't be needed in this scenario.

  • Interesting encounter! If it clogs the exploration deck I can see it making exploration nigh-impossible for low willpower investigators. As such, Jenny wants to get either Physical Training or High Roller ASAP. The problem is three booster cards were already discarded.

  • An enemy that's hard to ignore. Where to put her? Ideally, I'd want to return to the park, but Jenny still cannot reliably explore that location. Extra doom might appear on this cultist later, so the cathedral is too far. I'll go with Xochimilco and have Jenny try to nab him or her this round.

  • Fighting this guy without boosters is counterproductive. Hopefully Jenny we'll be able to outrun him until circumstances change. Shifting location connections might prove helpful with that.

  • 5 rounds left! 4 locations still need to be found and investigated. OK, let's focus on the immediate question. Do I risk discarding Ichtaca, one of the few combat enablers remaining, or do I have Jenny retreat towards the cathedral?

  • OK... This might be the end. Jenny cannot reach this guy from the cathedral and even if she could killing the cultist would be difficult! The best I can do at this point is to explore and expect that the location connection to Templo Mayor is symmetrical.

  • Last round Jenny somehow squeezed out one more action, but... it's the last turn. I do expect the backside of Act 2 to lead directly to the resolution if all six locations are nabbed before time runs out. Jenny has the Harbinger on her and she still has no way to boost willpower to find the last ancient locale. Nevertheless...

  • Jenny ended the scenario with just 1 health and 1 sanity. All her allies were defeated and she had two Words of Powers on her. It was the closest game I had in months. Not to mention that I've never been able to replicate the results. In following days I played the scenario a couple of times with the same deck and averaged around 3 paths.

Campaign Log:

The Untamed Wilds: Jenny cleared a path to the Eztli ruins. Alejandro chose to remain at camp. Jenny has earned Ichtaca’s trust. 7 XP (Ichtaca, Ruins of Eztli, Serpent's Haven, Circuitous Trail, 2 bonus XP). 1 Physical Trauma. Yig’s Fury: 0.

The Doom of Eztli: Jenny recovered the Relic of Ages. The Harbinger is still alive (0). Jenny gave custody of the relic to Alejandro. 6 XP (Burial Pit, Grand Chamber, Secret Passage, Charon's Obol, Delve Too Deep). Yig’s Fury: 1.
