If you've been following our streams, you know how much I love discovering clues from "down town" - ie locations I don't have to actually visit. You can imagine how excited I was when I read Trish's ability - after she discovers a clue at a location with an enemy you can either get an extra clue or exhaust that enemy - which makes doing so even more amazing.

The nucleus of the deck are the cards you can get that either automatically get you a clue (ex. Art Student, Working a Hunch) or the ones that let you grab clues from neighboring locations (ex. Seeking Answers, Intel Report). Trish makes cards like these way more efficient, whether it prevents you from having to go to certain locations entirely or you exhaust that key enemy before you or your teammate move through the location.

The deck gets card draw from Lucky Cigarette Case and, more importantly, Pickpocketing. Every time you exhaust an enemy you get a card back and you can actually have two of these in play. Once that engine is up and running, the deck can feel unstoppable. Meantime, the deck gets money comes in the form of Lone Wolf, Crack the Case, and Faustian Bargain.

The more I play Arkham, the more I appreciate that the cooperative nature of it extends heavily into even deckbuilding. A lot of the choices in the deck reflect the fact that I built it alongside the deck Steven was building. You can actually watch us going through that process on a recent live stream.

As a test drive of our concepts, we actually took 'experienced' versions of our decks through the most recently released scenario, War of the Outer Gods. We also dove into the Dream-Eaters campaign this week with the first scenario and will be continuing that campaign every other Monday.

I'm going to give this deck a whirl on Friday!

Just one observation: would it make sense to swap out Crack the Case for Cryptic Writings? Granted, Crack the Case can earn you more resources, but it's a little more situational than Cryptic Writings that earns you 2 bucks no matter what and without spending any action (provided it doesn't stick in your hand after the mulligan).
