Overview

This is a multiplayer Tony Morgan deck that is solely focused on handling enemies that I have built for my blind stan-hard Dream-Eaters run. With access to Rogue and Guardian cards and 5 by default, you can easily be best enemy handler the Mythos have ever faced. You are able to easily reach up to 9 with an upgraded Switchblade with two Reliable. A reusable weapon that often does 2 damage by default without any much commitment? Count me in. Having a reusable 9 $combat weapon without any commitment also allows us to be able to utilize the many extra actions cards that class provides us with.

Why can't I hold all these actions?

With Rogue and Guardian access, you have the access to the following cards for you to get extra actions:

These two cards are passive assets that grant you extra actions, enough said. Haste requires prior planning to utilize but honestly it is not too hard to use it's extra action every round.

These first four cards can give you extra actions whenever you might need them. Ace in the Hole is best used for huge tempo turns. Swift Reflexes and Galvanize are often used when you just lack that one or two action or you want to maximize your action count with Haste. Swift Reflexes and Galvanize also functions as a Guts and Manual Dexterity when you need them.

Double, Double combos with the above cards granting you even more actions. However, you do have to manage your resources when you are using Double, Double to generate more actions.

Why can't I hold all these resources/cards?

To reliably have the ability to generate extra actions with Swift Reflexes and Galvanize. You would need a tonnes of resources, thankfully Tony Morgan comes with a natural resource generator with his signature cards:

With these two cards, each enemy you kill effectively gives you one resource. Since our switchblade combo is usually stronger than the Tony's .38 Long Colt, we often only use that for finishing blows against weak enemies to generate extra bounties, or if we are able to support the finishing blow with strong skill cards like Daring.

The upgraded Decorated Skull effectively triples the value of each kill you get as Tony Morgan, with this deck, you are often given enough actions to handle multiple enemies drawn by different players, you charge up this item incredibly fast which allows you quickly earn resources and cycle through your deck so you can quickly retrieve the cards from your discard pile again for even more

Can be used with Double, Double for a 4 resources and 2 cards. Gives you money and cards and thins your deck. This card is too good.

Glory draws you two cards for each kill, and All In draws you cards as well, allowing you to quickly cycle through your deck to get more resources and more actions.

With so much cycle, you can gather the pieces for Three Aces very fast as well, allowing you to easy succeed against an important skill test for even more resources and cards. I often find myself using it for skill tests that I am weak at such as during treacheries or when I want to disable Retaliate with an evasion attempt since our default 9 is often plenty when dealing with normal enemies

Daring helps us evade on the rare situation when we want to evade and also helps us secure kills with our Tony's .38 Long Colt. This card also cycles, what else do we want from a card?

Since we are often expecting ourselves to succeed by two anyway with our upgraded Switchblade, you can gamble that you will succeed by two with Gregory Gry to further sustain your addiction to extra actions. Gregory Gry is also soak. You can replace him with Lonnie Ritter if you want the extra or soak. I prefer Gregory Gry because I like resources as resources give you more

Gameplay / How to Pilot

  • Play switchblade + reliable combo
  • See enemies
  • Stab enemies
    • If enemy is dead, savor the moment by drinking from your skull
    • If enemy is still alive, stab enemies some more by generating more actions with your cards. Drink from your skull next turn instead.

Leo De Luca is SOAK. You will have enough resources + cycle to let him die.

Adaptable is there if you want to play more defensively, you can play stuff like Liquid Courage, Tennessee Sour Mash or "You handle this one!" to protect your sanity. I initially started with these cards and found that I do not really need these defensive cards, you just have to be willing to let Leo De Luca die...

It is tempting to save cards for a dream turn, but it often find myself casually using Galvanize and Swift Reflexes on different turns to maximise my Double, Double value. But damn, is it really tempting to just hoard these

What does the dream turn look like?

Not quite a thousand stabs but I think eighteen stabs in one turn is pretty sweet and most enemies would very dead by now... This would be fifteen stabs if you are playing Taboo since you cannot Double, Double an Ace in the Hole. Double your Swift Reflexes instead

Further Improvements

I ran Backpack but took it out after I realized that I cycle my deck quite fast. In all honesty, the Switchblade + Reliable combo is so strong that you are in your final form with these two cards. All other extra cards in your deck are just gravy to fuel the stabbing train.

You have Adaptable, just experiment between scenarios.

I am also unironically recommending "Let God sort them out..." before you add in your Three Aces or Easy Mark as Tony Morgan have enough actions and fighting capabilities to play "Let God sort them out...". I was even able to play it twice to get myself that sweet sweet 2XP.

Q & A

Let Leo De Luca die! Or you can switch out your cycle/resource cards for defensive cards like discussed.

  • Do your friends hate you for taking so many actions?

Sometimes. In all honesty, this deck sometimes trivializes scenarios where you can win the scenario with pure brute force.
