Underworld Support Finn

This is a deck I ran solo through Forgotten Age, using cards up to FGA plus Winnifred and EotE. I only lost the final (secret) scenario, otherwise the deck ran really well. I played on Easy, but I believe that on Standard it would work well too.

0 XP level of this deck is available here, it could use some tweaking, but I am showing what I built and used.

Overview

Basic idea of this deck is to be action efficient, collect clues fast and run away from the enemies while collecting benefits from the evasion. There are some weapons included to defeat those pesky hunters or bigger ones for victory points, but usually this Finn just wants to run away.

  • Star of the deck is Lucky Cigarette Case, Finn almost always mulligans for this one and then finds everything needed with oversuccess. Second priority are Lockpicks to reliably activate Lucky Cigarette Case and give Finn whatever he needs most at the moment,
  • Finn's free Evade allows him to easily run away, with Blur, he will generate an extra action, Pickpocketing gives resources and cards,
  • Lola Santiago gives him actionless clue.

Enemy Handling

Evade, evade, evade, sometimes attack. For evasion, Finn has quite a bit of support:

If he needs to go for a kill, he can use one of his guns (I actually never used Mauser C96 in the whole campaign, so feel free to switch it with something to your liking), attach from behind, or Waylay the monsters.

Survivability

With 1, there is not much Finn can do against some sort of treacheries, but he can usually soak the damage with help of his Allies and reliably use Take Heart to get a consolation price for failed tests. If he encounters something nasty like Frozen in Fear, Logical Reasoning helps to put him back on track. Later in the campaign, Counterespionage and Sure Gamble also keep him covered.

Support

To do all we need, we need resources and cards. Resources are covered here by "Watch this!", Lone Wolf, Unscrupulous Loan and Take Heart. If Finn is lucky to run into an enemy, he can Pickpocket him and run away that bit richer. By the end of the campaing, The Red Clock also covers a lot of resource (and other) needs.

Final Words

I am sure this deck could be improved even with the limited card pool I have used, but this is what I played and I wanted to share since I was so happy about the deck. With the final exception, which cost Finn his sanity, maybe that was the time he could have used more weapons and less running away... or better foresight from me as a deck pilot :)
