Sister Mary deck at the end of 4-player Innsmouth Conspiracy campaign

===

Sister Mary proved to be a hell (or heaven?) of a .

Early/Mid game, Blessed Bladed + Favor of the Sun + Enchant Weapon proved to be a very effective combo. By using sealed bless tokens from Favor of the Sun, you're able to guarantee the +1 damage (and the +2 to-hit from the bless token) comes up when you need it. And Blessed Blade is great at re-filling the bless tokens into the bag.

Late Game, switching to Holy Spear + Enchant Weapon turns Sister Mary into an absolute killing machine. You can easily do 8 damage in one turn. Let me break it down; If you have Holy Spear + Enchant Weapon and 2 bless tokens in the bag, before any skill bonuses from cards like Holy Rosary or an Ally, a 3 attack turn looks like this:

  • Bottom Action of Holy Spear, Seal 2 tokens, attack with 7 for 3 damage
  • Top Action Holy Spear + Enchant Weapon, Return token, attack with 9 for 3 damage
  • Top Action Holy Spear, Return last , attack with 5 for 2 damage

For Allies, Nephtys is amazing at keeping bless tokens in the bag (or doing an extra 2 damage here and there). Her boost makes her better once you have Enchant Weapon, until then Greta is a great +1 ally with a bonus ability.

Bless: Sister Mary absolutely fills the bag with bless tokens. I've hit 9-10 bless in the bag almost every game, and often hovered around 6-7 in the bag. Bless tokens do fly out of the bag really fast when there are 6+ bless in there (especially with 4 players). To mitigate that, cards like Sacred Covenant are a must, Nephthys or Blessing of Isis help (they're kina mutually exclusive). Also sealing tokens for later use (e.g. on Favor of The Sun, Holy Spear, Nephythys, Rite of Sancrificaiton) is useful, but be careful about balancing how many blaess tokens are sealed vs in the bag, remember there is a max of 10. I would keep the stack of bless tokens in the token pool in front of me to track how much is in the bag.

Finally, with the high , you're able to take a few spells to help out with investigating. Those aren't necessary, depending on your party composition. I didn't really use them much, but they where good to have for a few critical investigates.

Everything else in my deck or side-deck is just a bonus to play around with.

  • Steadfastast is a great skill since you're using both and
  • Prepared for the Worst ofc will help dig for Blessed Blade or Holy Spear
  • Safeguard and Righteous Hunt are great 4-player to save on move actions and let you have the actions to kill big enemies in one turn.
  • Hand of Fate was only used a few times, but when it was used it absolutely came in clutch, saving me from a boss attack and adding a ton of bless tokens.
  • Enchanted Armor is great at soaking hits when you have high
  • Robes of Endless Night, I debate if it's useful given the cost, but it can help play enchant weapon and/or the investigate spells and gives Mary a bit of extra health she desperately needs.

Weakness:

  • Her signature weakness isn't too bad, but it can really hurt when you happen to draw it when the bag is full of bless tokens. Mary can tank a lot of horror, but also remember that bless tokens sealed on items don't count towards the horror you take from Crisis of Faiths.

tl;dr: With Sister Mary's bless generation engine, Holy Spear + Enchant Weapon promote her from a humble Sister to a proper Holy Paladin.
