After the nerve-wracking Boundry Beyond the two-parter Ursula’s gonna tackle is a breather. Ursula deciphered patterns in the stone, so she begins with one clue and she knows four paths, meaning she needs just three more clues to finish the scenario. We can safely forgo Provisions. If something happens and circumstances conspire against Ursula there’s always an option to repeat the scenario. Part B is not so forgiving, but we’ll worry about it where we get there. As for our upgrades, Ursula’s deck is essentially complete, so from now it’s just gradual increase. We’re rotating out Persuasion in anticipation of The City of Archives. I could go for Relic Hunter instead of Studious, but there's our card draw doesn't reliably get us both copies of Crystalline Elder Sign. Enjoy!

Aww... Bad luck with that Resentful Wilds. I could've backtracked, but one more vengeance should be acceptable. Backtracking and exploring to the red square location risked putting more encounters in the exploration deck, which could diminish the usefulness of the Compass action. I said earlier, I appreciate that change, it makes the supplies feel more useful. Alas, still no use for the blanket! Come one, perhaps sending smoke signals? Give it something besides preventing trauma. Oh, there's a Pit Viper in the explore deck. Beware.

Three Snake Bites in a row! Thankfully, Ursula turned out to be quite thick-skinned and weathered them all. Overall, we won quickly and cleanly, so there's definitely time to tackle the second part of the scenario. Note the mistake in the setup. The lack-of-Provisions effect shouldn't apply to the second setup, so Ursula should begin with more resources. It had no effect on the mulligan and the investigator quickly gained resources via Burning the Midnight Oil and Crack the Case, so the mistake stays in the log as is.

The one time I resorted to Veda's ability it turned a snek into the exact same snek. Eeeh... But, no problem, Ursula's doing all right. Note the usefulness of Pathfinder and Shortcut, those extra actions saved Ursula from a lungful of spores and greatly assisted the snek management. We went out of our way to get XPs in the first half, so I don't feel the need to repeat that with two potential enemies on board. If the explore deck offers us a direct route to the final locations we're taking it on that offer.

OK, the choice between five and seven vengeance total is sort of significant, because five is the threshold for no changes in the setup for the penultimate scenario. But, Ursula has Rope so I feel confident enough to take that last clue and score two additional XPs. The Dream Diary and the Crystalline Elder Sign do good work together, I wish I included some tutors so I'm sure both of these cards hit the table when needed. We're doing very well, so I might go for No Stone Unturned. But... The City of Archives is up ahead and in terms of 5-XP cards that scenario calls for The Eye of Truth. Defaulting to one more Studious and basic updates is also an option. I'll think about. Until next time!
