This is my second attempt at building a deck from scratch and I think it really leans into Pete and Duke's strengths with their unique ability to move around the map quickly discovering clues early game as well as having high card draw with good commit skill cards to pass most scenarios while also keeping Duke fed with cards whenever you need him.

Cut Baseball Bat (Your isn't high enough to fight with it consistently), Bait and Switch (Similarly, your isn't high enough to consistently evade) and Old Book of Lore (You're not Daisy Walker, so I don't feel you'll have the actions needed to make the Book worth it, and your hand slots look kind of competitive). Bump Dark Horse and Magnifying Glass up to 2 copies. Some potential swaps to make: Preposterous Sketches for a second Laboratory Assistant (almost the same card draw, but with sanity soak on top) Survival Instinct for a second Manual Dexterity (I love Survival Instinct, but Pete isn't built to leverage evasion enough to justify it; Manual Dexterity can be used to protect against encounter tests like Grasping Hands, or to evade if worst comes to worst) "Look what I found!" for a second Rabbit's Foot Overall, not bad for a second attempt.
